EFECTO DE LA CIROMACINA SOBRE LA MORFOLOGIA Y DESARROLLO DE LOS OVARIOS DE ANASTREPHA OBLIQUA (MACQUART) (DIPTERA: TEPHRITIDAE)

The ovarial development of Anastrepha obliqua females exposed to normal diet (1:3, yeast hydrolysate: sugar) and a diet with 0.50% a.i. of cyromazine was compared. The ovaries of newly emerged flies and flies of 1, 3, 5, etc. days until age 25 days were dissected and measurements were taken of their lengh, upper, medium and lower ovarial width. Fecundity (egg per female) and fertility (egg hatch) were also evaluated. No significant differences in the length and the middle and the low ovarial width were observed. However, the ovaries top width of the ovaries was slightly smaller in the treated females in comparison to control females. Fecundity and fertility were signicatively reduced in treated females.%Se comparó el desarrollo ovárico de hembras de A. obliqua, alimentadas con una dieta normal a base de levadura hidrolizada y azúcar (1:3) y moscas expuestas a esta misma dieta pero con 0.50% de i.a. de ciromacina. A partir de la emergencia, cada 2 días se hicieron disecciones hasta los 25 días de edad extrayendo los ovarios y midiendo la longitud, la anchura superior, la anchura media y la anchura inferior. También se evaluó la fecundidad y la fertilidad. No se encontró diferencia en la longitud, anchura media y anchura inferior de los ovarios. La anchura superior de los ovarios fue más pequeño en las moscas que se alimentaron con dieta + ciromacina. La fecundidad y la fertilidad también fueron menores en las hembras sometidas a este régimen de alimentación comparadas con las del testigo.
