Baosteel expects to have exported 2.6 million mt of its nproducts in 2010, representing 10.6% of its expected 2010 nfinished-steel output, the Chinese steel giant said last nweek. The export volume has already exceeded its goal for n2010, the company said in a statement. In September, Zhao nLang, head of Baosteel’s overseas research unit, estimated nBaosteel’s exports for the year would represent at least 10% nof its steel output. Baosteel in December estimated ship nplate export sales would exceed 1.4 million mt in 2010. In n2009, Baosteel exported 1.66 million mt of steel products, nrepresenting 7.4% of its steel output. In 2008, it exported n2.68 million mt of steel products, representing 11.4% of its nannual output.
