Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. provides insurance brokerage, risk management and related services in the U.S. and abroad. Co.'s principal activity is the negotiation and placement of insurance. Co. also specializes in furnishing risk management services by analyzing risks and determining whether proper protection is best obtained through the purchase of insurance or retention of all or a portion of those risks and the adoption of corporate risk management policies and cost-effective loss control and prevention programs. As of Dec 31 2006, Co. operated through a network of 250 sales and service offices in the U.S. and six countries and correspondent brokers and consultants in 120 countries.
