The quest for human responsibilities to complement human rights

To conclude, some people already have a sense of responsibility without a text to tell them to do so. Therefore perhaps the transforming process is underway but in an indirect way. It is not an explicit event such as the creation of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which really was a radical departure from the then contemporary thinking. For example, all the major religious faiths have something to say about 'responsibility' in one form or another and so individuals get inculcated with a notion towards responsibility as part of an outworking of their faith. There is also an upsurge in philanthropic activity by some of the world's wealthiest individuals.
