surgical swab composed of at least two layers ofnonwoven fabric and an inner layer of textile polymer net hasbeen developed by Bastos Viegas.According to the company of Penafiel, Portugal, thenonwoven swab has similar visual characteristics to surgicalpre-washed gauze swabs, but with a softer and spongytactile presentation. The device also offers high strength,high capacity and high absorption rate, and reduced releaseof fibres and particles.
