For the past 10-plus years, the last item, the jewel of the Meat Industry Suppliers Alliance auction, has been a quilt, crafted by a member of the board of directors of MISA and an employee of Stork-Townsend, Janet Bergeron.rnInvariably, the bidding on the quilt snowballs into several thousand dollars and signals the end of the fund-raising portion of the annual FPSA Annual Conference each spring. For most members, the MISA auction is the highlight of the event. It's their opportunity to give back by paying absurdly high prices for electronic gadgets, a sail on another member's boat, or the opportunity to possess a truly tasteless necktie for a year.
