What is Essential in Standard Setting and Construct Maps? Commentary on Adam E. Wyse's 'Construct Maps as a Foundation for Standard Setting'

I've been aware of Adam Wyse's ideas about construct maps for some time now, and I am glad he is continuing his work in this area and that it is getting more attention. I think one of the most important ideas in his work is that we need to better represent, through graphics, the information that is used in standard setting. But I'm not sure if this is enough to make construct maps foundational to standard setting or what else there is or could be about construct maps that makes them foundational.
