Bringing in the (Light) Harvest

Much recent work has focused on the use of phosphorescent emitters as dopants in light-emitting devices (LEDs). Such dopants, including iri-dium (III) and rhenium (I) complexes, have been found to improve the efficiency of LEDs through triplet harvesting. Now, an international team of researchers led by Professors D'Alfonso and Mussini of Universita degli Studi di Milano and Professor De Cola of Universitaet Muenster have published a study on a family of highly emitting rhenium (I) complexes.
