Synthesis of single-crystalline bismuth nanobelts and nanosheets

Single-crystalline bismuth nanobelts have been synthesized successfully by solution-phase route, using ethylene glycol as reductant and solvent. It was speculated that the final morphology resulted from the layered structure of rhombohedral bismuth.
