Synthesis of SnS:Ag nanosheets for solar energy water splitting

In this paper, tin monosulfide (SnS) nanosheets were prepared by one-pot method and silver (Ag) nanoparticles (NPs) were deposited on the SnS nanosheets (NSs) through a photochemical reduction process. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and energy spectrometer (EDS), UV & ndash;Vis-NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy were used to characterize the physical properties of the SnS: Ag NSs. Photoelectrochemical tests indicated that Ag NPs enhanced the photoelectric properties of SnS NSs and the highest photocurrent density of 14.93 mu A/cm2 was achieved.
