Sharon Vukelich, nominated for the ASNT Chair of the Board, has been a member of ASNT since approximately 1984. Prior to 1992, she was involved in the Miami Valley Section. She is the present ASNT President. Li the past, she has served as a member of the Board of Directors as well as an officer of the Technical and Education Council and as a member of the Research Council aj td the Section Operations Council. Vukelich is presently a research engineer at the University of Dayton Research Institute. At the University she is working with aging aircraft and propulsion systems and nondestructive evaluation/inspection; she continues as a leading expert on the L'DAF Engine Structural Integrity Program. Cite retired in January 2003 after twenty-one years as the chief of the Advanced En-gine Projects Integrated Product Team at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In this capacity, she managed nineteen engineers. She was a primary author of the NDE reliability standard used by the military. She has a BS in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan and an MS in aerospace engineering from the University of Cincinnati. She has worked as an aerospace and NDE engineer for over thirty years.
