The End Of Oil: Not Yet!

The increased demand for oil over the last years resulted in a steady rise in prices, with an incredible upward surge in 2008 reaching a peak of almost US$ 150 per barrel. Was the end of oil near? Well, not yet but it certainly sparked the offshore industry to revamp existing fleets and invest in new equipment to meet growing demand and new exploration, construction and production challenges. It also attracted numerous new players into the industry which were very open to innovations and very quick in deciding to build their assets on speculation.
