Clean energy: Is the U.S. getting left behind?

No matter what the outcome at the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference this month, one thing is clear-clean energy is big business. The Energy Information Administration (EIA), part of the U.S. Energy Department, estimates that the worldwide investment in wind turbines will be $2.1 trillion and solar photovoltaic panels will be $1.5 trillion by 2030. China is investing heavily on clean energy (an estimated $9 billion per month) and Europe is well advanced in its plans for offshore wind farms. In order to get a piece of the pie, the U.S. needs to get its act together.
