Climate change is forcing countries to reassess their energy policies. With many political leaders pledging to cut greenhouse gas emissions drastically over the next two decades, the support for clean renewable energy is bound to grow.rnEurope has already begun to tap the vast potential of offshore wind. The U.K., for example, would need to generate 29 gigawatts from offshore wind to meet its goal of producing 25% of its electricity from this clean source of energy by 2020. That equates to roughly 6,000 offshore wind turbines.
