Medina Elected Chair of IMO's Maritime Safety Committee

MAYTE MEDINA of the U.S. Coast Guard has been unanimously elected to serve as the first female Chair of International Maritime Organization's Maritime Safety Committee, the IMO technical body responsible for all issues related to the protection of life and property at sea. A graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Medina has been with the U.S. Coast Guard since 1997.
