For over 20 years Daniel Paro has been the prime mover behind technological innovation within the product development department of engine manufacturer Waertsilae. During that time he has presided over the development of nine diesel and eight gas engines and pioneered a number of breakthrough technologies — pressure lubricated pistons, antipolishing rings, direct water injection, computerised cylinder control of gas engines to name just four.
