Exxonmobil research and Engineering (EMRE) has developed a proprietary automatable method for measuring asphaltenes in used marine engine lubricants that correlates well with the Central European Coordinating Council (CEC) L-94 asphaltenes test method. This new EMRE test termed, Detecting Asphaltenes Contamination (DAC), repons asphaltenes in weight %.
