IMO mulls NOx regulation delays

The Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the IMO may delay implementing regulation regarding restrictions of NOx emissions within ECAs. The committee was presented by a paper from the Russian delegation at its 65th meeting which drew attention to the fact that SCR (Selective catalytic reduction) technology involved prohibitive costs towards its adoption and also still suffered from some shortcomings.
