In formulating the proposal, USDA considered the Institute of Medicines (IOM) 200" Nutrition Standards for Foods in Schools: Leading the Way Toward Healthier Youth report, and reviewed nutrition standards developed by other entities, including existing State and local standards, and voluntary standards developed by organizations such as the Alliance for a Healthier Generation (AH(i).
