Privatize risks and socialize results ? The limits of the welfare state and of the marketplace lead us to reconsider old practices that have stood the test of time. For instance, the patronages, created in the XIXth century, under the evangelizing influence of lay and religious associations. The 15.000 structures of these youth fellowships now employ 220.000 people and host about 3.000.000 children year in year out. A wise dosage of myths, rites and tribes characterizes these organizations.
