The NSTask at Hand: A look at spawning processes on OS X

Given how central multitasking and multiprocess management is to Mac OS X, it is important to understand the different ways of creating tasks and how we can utilize these in our own applications. Furthermore, using interprocess communication facilities such as pipes opens up the ability for us to utilize other programs to do work on our behalf.
