摘要

The fast advances in translation-related computer technology and growing social needs for technology-proficient translational professionals are now clearly reflected in the courses offered by universities in Americas, Asia, Europe, and other continents. Since 2002, when the Department of Translation of The Chinese University of Hong Kong initiated its Information Technology intensive Master of Arts program in Computer-aided Translation (CAT), about 30 universities in the Greater China region alone are now offering or planning to offer similar courses to translation students.rnTo many teachers and students, however, CAT is still an unfamiliar field. It proves to be difficult for them to do related research or reading because of lack of systematic references.
