BIMCO hopes that the LNG sector will get behind this initiative to develop a voyage charter specifically for the LNG trade. LNGVOY aims to reduce the time spent preparing agreements and to avoid the risks associated with using heavily amended forms designed for other types of chartering. An important part of the development process is consultation with the industry to give potential users the opportunity to review and comment on the contract before it is finally published. This consultation process is taking place this summer/early autumn, seeking to have LNGVOY ready for publication in November 2015.
