The 2013 political intrigue movie American Hustle opened with these words: "Some of this actually happened." For those of us in the lighting industry, those words would easily be appropriate for Last Days of Night. However, this is a novel and not a historic research study. Author Graham Moore has managed to craft a delightfully readable novel set in New York City in the late 1800s centered around three of the giants of lighting—Thomas Edison, George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla—as they all sought for control of the emerging world of electricity and incandescent lighting.
