The first of 18 trains for the new system under construction in the Chinese city of Suzhou was rolled out at the CSR Puzhen plant in Nanjing on 9 April, and should be delivered for testing in May. The vehicle is the result of a ten-year technology licensing agreement signed between CSR Puzhen and Bombardier two years ago, and is based on the Bombardier Flexity 2 double-ended 100% low-floor design, measuring 32m in length with five body sections and three Flexx Urban 3000 bogies. The 2.65m-wide tram features Bombardier Mitrac traction equipment.
