Informationskompetenz im Fachkontext fördern: Entwicklung eines Gesamtkonzeptes für eine Institutsbibliothek

Institutsbibliotheken in zweischichtigen Bibliothekssystemen sind als Schnittstellen zwischen Fachwissenschaftlem und Studierenden prädestiniert dafür, Aufgaben zur Förderung der fachspezifischen Informationskompetenz zu übernehmen. Am Beispiel der Bibliothek des Instituts für Politische Wissenschaft an der RWTH Aachen wird gezeigt, wie ein Konzept zur Förderung der Informationskompetenz mit Beteiligung der Institutsbibliothek erstellt und an die fachspezifischen Bedürfnisse der Klientel angepasst werden kann. Aufbauend auf einer Bedarfsanalyse wurden dabei bestehende Standards und lerntheoretische Überlegungen einbezogen.%In decentralized university library systems department libraries act as interfaces between scientists and students that qualifies them to promote information literacy in particular. The following article describes the development of a concept for the promotion of information literacy courses at the Department of Political Science at RWTH Aachen University. The concept, based on the results of a survey among teaching staff, is influenced by accepted standards and guidelines of information literacy skills and it will take didactical requirements into consideration.
