For many librarians, this book by the teen coordinator of the Cleveland Public Library system will serve as a valuable eye-opener into the needs and reading tastes of a large proportion of teen boys. Welch argues that, because most librarians are women, libraries have an institutional bias toward promoting books that appeal to girls. While many would quickly deny this suggestion, Welch's reasoned insight into what resonates with a large number of male readers may easily change their minds.
