I can sympathize with Eddie Paul ("I feel irrelevant," Feedback, LJ 8/08, p. 11). It is true that all libraries are being increasingly used for Internet access, including MySpace, Facebook, and obtaining popular news online. However, there are still many great aspects to working in a library and serving the public.rnIn the medium-sized public library where I work, our Internet-based computers are highly used by the public. A large portion of our daily work involves registering patrons for the computers and assisting them with technical questions. However, we still continue to get "traditional" reference questions, such as finding a specific book, researching a topic, and obtaining information and referral for agencies in the community.
