I am totally worn out with the tax-exempt, political endorsement debate ("Liberal intolerance" or "A 'real' woman," Feedback, LJ 2/1/09, p. 11). I am not a mindless sheep, and I don't need the American Library Association, the Dixie Chicks, and/or any Hollywood talking head to tell me how to vote. God gave me a brain, and I try to use it whenever possible!rnI appreciated Francine Fialkoff's editorial ("A Glimmer of Good News," LJ 2/1/09, p. 8) on the new National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) research report "Reading on the Rise," but since she asks why our study focused on the reading of fiction, poetry, and drama-instead of nonfiction-I want to offer this explanation.
