Well, as someone who will turn age 73 in 2030, I expect to be retired by that point, but who knows (Rebecca T. Miller, "The Job Outlook," Editorial, LJ 10/15/17, p. 8)? About 20 years ago, I was worried I might be obsolete before being eligible to retire thanks to the rise of the Internet, disappearance of print journals, and students and administrators who think a physical library is on its way out. Glad to still be employed at age 60. Hoping to work another five to ten years (by choice) and glad to see that my fears of obsolescence may be overblown in case I might still need to work in 2030.
