The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library will be built in Dickinson, ND, near the campus of Dickinson State University (DSU), while a concomitant museum will be established in Medora, in the Badlands. The library will "support the Theodore Roosevelt Center, as well as the scholars program at [DSU]," said Bruce Pitts, Library Foundation Board of Trustees chair, in a statement. The $146 million effort will include $12.5 million from the City of Dickinson and the State of North Dakota. The library and museum originated as a digital effort to establish an archive for Roosevelt's writings. The work on the library is expected to begin in November.
