Digital images are widely used in education as visual support to help students understand concepts. Most often these images are static; students use them to support learning but don't actually interact with them. However, imagine students being able to interact with a map or image to sort the information relevant to an essential question. In this case, the image would not be a static piece of visual information but could be used as an interactive tool to help the student sort important details from irrelevant ones.
