Introduction to 25th anniversary issue of the Leadership Quarterly

2014 starts the 25th year of the Leadership Quarterly. Happy Birthday LQ, and welcome readers to the 25th Anniversary Issue of the Leadership Quarterly] This anniversary issue is a set of comprehensive, review, and perspective-type articles that highlight and typically summarize 25 years of publications in LQ (and beyond), which began in 1990, on broad topics covering a wide range of important and critical issues for leadership theory, empirical research, and professional practice. The articles are all written by senior established leadership scholars and their junior coauthors who represent the next generation of leadership scholars. The senior author teams were selected for each article based on their expertise and were given freedom to add coauthors and cover whatever ground they wished. All the articles then went through a developmental but thorough review process and revisions, resulting in the articles which appear here-all of which review the past, organize the present, look to future, and integrate and extend work on their topical areas.
