Chilean telco Entel, in conjunction with Ericsson, has completed a demonstration of an LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) carrier aggregation (CA) solution capable of supporting speeds of up to 250Mbps on its commercial 4G network. The test utilized the 700MHz and 2600MHz bands, and Ericsson claims the trial was the first test of 250Mbps speeds on a commercial network in Latin America. Commenting on the trial, Entel CEO Antonio Buchi said: "We wanted to be once again at the forefront and be the first in the technology field to show that in the future we will provide our users with the most advanced mobile network in Chile and Latin America, and we expect to have a significant impact on the country's development."
