AT&T connects new Mexican tech-driven bourse

AT&T Mexico announced that the country's second bourse, the newly-launched tech-driven BIVA stock exchange, will use the operator's network to communicate with financial intermediaries. Specifically, AT&T said it will provide its Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) routing system to help nearly 30 brokerage firms carry out their transactions in a highly secure and reliable manner. The company added that its network is supported by a monitoring team ready to respond immediately if any unusual behavior is detected. BIVA hopes to capture part of the equities market in Mexico and will compete with the official Mexican stock exchange BMV.
