AT&T looking to connect Mexico City metro businesses

AT&T is preparing to offer connectivity services to the hundreds of businesses operating in Mexico City's metro, reports Forbes Mexico, citing the company's chief technology officer Carlos Sanchez. Earlier this year AT&T Mexico was awarded the contract to install 4G technology and Wi-Fi on the capital's metro, the world's fourth largest subway system and the largest in Latin America. Once installed, the company's network will also allow it to offer services to the 1,400-plus commercial premises located in the metro. "Traders with sales outlets in the stations could use the potential of the network to connect to the internet and optimize processes, exchange information faster, save costs, offer new services, etc," said Sanchez.
