摘要

Since English is the dominant medium of the international academic community, scholars face growing pressure to publish in English-medium Anglophone-centred journals. While English-medium academic publishing is a complex endeavour for any author, it can be more daunting for those who use English as an additional language (EAL) in non-Anglophone contexts (Belcher, 2007). Despite the high stakes and difficulties involved in academic publishing globally, relatively little is known about how EAL scholars negotiate the demands of academic publishing through the medium of English. Theresa Lillis and Mary Jane Curry's book fills this gap and illuminates the impact of the dominance of English on academic text production and publication by EAL scholars in non-Anglophone contexts.
