Seamless outerwear was a key theme at Santoni's Open Days held in Brescia, Italy, in October, as the company seeks to expand the application of its seamless garment knitting machines beyond underwear.rnThe company showcased its SM8-TR1 machine which is 50% more productive than previous models and offers the possibility of knitting mesh structures, comprising small or large holes. This can be used to produce body-mapping effects. On display were garments with a looser, more casual feel than the traditional body-hugging seamless sportswear while still including some performance features.
