Cannon with target seeking apparatus fitted beneath the horizontal plane beneath the horizontal pivot axis of the cannon, pref. in the lower quadrant. Pref. the optical axis of the target seeker is perpendicularly beneath the axis of the barrel and/or in front of the platform of the cannon tube as is the seat of the sighting tube; this seat may also be behind the tube platform and the eyepiece is connected to the receiver part of the target finder by a sight line transmission. The target seeker is also a target follower; its arrangement gives a field of view unobstructed by bundles of shells.
