摘要

Ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) like other composite materials, have macroscopic anisotropy and microscopic inho- mogeneity. Effects of orthotropy on structural analysis and material selection were discussed. Analytical procedure has serious difficulty in determining many number of material constants. Homogenization method is one of the solutions to evaluate macroscopic elastic constants for structural analysis and to determine failure stress based on the microscopic mate- rial models. Some examples of CMC structural members were analyzed by using finite element method based on the homog- enization theory.
