Digital Photo Magic: Easy Image Retouching and Restoration for Librarians, Archivists, and Teachers

Digital Photo Magic was written by librarian and amateur photographer Ernest Perez to fill a growing need, that of librarians and other knowledge professionals who work frequently with digital images and who need guidance in both the software and implementation of digital photo repairing and retouching. According to Perez, the process of "digital photo magic," or DPM, is an affordable and practical approach to digital photo retouching that can greatly benefit librarians and archivists who may be dealing with tight budgets and who may have little experience working with digital photos. Using this process, print photos, film negatives, digital images, color transparencies, and even images from a book or periodical can be altered to produce higher quality images, and in many cases, original images can be restored that might have otherwise been lost.
