Meeting on Dyes in History and Archaeology - Istanbul

The 27th meeting of Dyes in History and Archaeology (DHA 27) was held at Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey in October 2008. Formerly known as the Association of Researchers into Dyes in History and Archaeology, the meetings started in 1982, when a group of specialists from around Europe decided to get together and 'share expertise'. It has grown into being an international group of experts, all with differing core background interests. Originally an invitation to join the meetings was required. It is now on an application basis. There were 200 places available so applications were requested to be in before the end of June to ensure a place. Each year's conference is held in a different country. In 2007 it was held in Austria (Vienna) and this year (2009) it will be held in Poland (Posnan).
