摘要

This beautiful hardback book describes the simple bands woven on small looms by European settlers in southern Pennsylvania. The weavers, mostly of German, Austrian and Swiss origins, generally grew their own flax and cotton, or kept sheep for wool, and spun and dyed the yarns in a limited range of colours, before creating long lengths of handwoven tape for many practical uses.
