摘要

With a few simple materials and a minimum of time, teachers of students with visual impairments can create a community of braille enthusiasts in the classroom. Braille is no longer a mysterious jumble of dots that are decipherable only by students who are blind. Rather, it becomes a skill that everyone learns and enjoys together. Braille literacy for sighted classmates builds bridges between blind and sighted classmates, between general education students and the teacher of students with visual impairments, and perhaps even into the future when some of the young brail-lists may choose a career in the field of visual impairments.
