RECOLLECTIONS OF MY ASSOCIATION WITH PROFESSOR LIVIU LIBRESCU

摘要

Even though I had studied Professor Liviu Librescu's research work prior to moving from the University of Missouri-Rolla to Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in the fall of 1994, 1 started interacting with Liviu in August 1994. Since then and till the tragic event of 16 April 2007, we discussed both personal and research problems very often, served on committees of doctoral students, and participated in several conferences. He was always full of energy, extremely enthusiastic about the new results he had discovered with his research collaborators, and like a great scientist, very keen to share them with others.
