摘要

Discrimination between matched or mismatched nucleotides by the DNA polymerase domains takes place during both the incorporation opposite a template nucleobase and the strand extension steps.It appears that for most DNA polymerases,especially those lacking proofreading activity,the structural requirements are more stringent during extension of a newly synthesized unnatural base pair.
