摘要

During the development and formulation of any active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) that is to be delivered in a solid form, a wide range of stringent performance parameters (e.g., solubility, dissolution rate, thermal stability, etc.) needs to be carefully considered. It is thus not surprising that poor biopharmaceutical properties (as opposed to toxicity or lack of efficacy) are the main reason that less than 1 % of active compounds eventually make it into the marketplace.
