NSDC's Standards for Staff Development are an invaluable resource to those of us charged with improving the quality of staff development. Many of us who work in school and central office leadership are familiar with the 12 standards. We talk about these standards with those whom we support. However, as the field moves toward staff development that is results-driven, standards-based, and job-embedded, educators who are not in formal positions of leadership are thrust into roles that include supporting their peers as adult learners.
