An Introduction to Data, Everything You Need to Know About AI: Big Data and Data Science

One way to understand or describe some phenomenon is to look at it from different viewpoints and to consider its many aspects. This book considers rather briefly different aspects of big data, describing a multifaceted and fast evolving technology. It gives a personal view, mainly from work experience, of what is known as artificial intelligence (AI) with plenty of food for further thought. It comprises a collection of 16 essays and lessons learned from experience. It is not technical, theoretical or a manual for AI. Its 16 chapters are on important issues involving AI with four practical appendices. Each chapter ends with references on the current state of affairs in AI. In Chapter 4, the author maps AI with problem domains against AI paradigms and lists fields of science or technology that deal with AI currently. There are references to many information technology companies and start-ups in insurance, finance and investment in Chapters 9, 10 and 11.
