RESPONSE TO 'SPATIAL MULTIPLIERS IN HEDONIC ANALYSIS: A COMMENT ON 'SPATIAL HEDONIC MODELS OF AIRPORT NOISE, PROXIMITY, AND HOUSING PRICES''

In the preceding comment on "Spatial Multipliers in Hedonic Analysis: A Comment on 'Spatial Hedonic Models of Airport Noise, Proximity, and Housing Prices'," Steimetz (2010) highlights our miscalculation of a spatial multiplier and the mean marginal willingness to pay. We appreciate this opportunity to correct the estimate. We also provide perspective on the spatial multiplier analysis in our paper and make a small extension. This extension highlights the subtle difference in the calculation of the marginal willingness to pay for less noise when there are two noise categories, the focus of the preceding comment, versus three noise categories, the number of categories in our paper.
